I believe that compliance management can create measurable added value for your company and I would like to support you in bringing this added value to life. You can expect international experience paired with pragmatism , authenticity and the ability to structure and simplify complex issues and communicate them in a clear 'story' so that the message can be understood and implemented. In the process the emphasis is alway on the 'why' of compliance.

PRAGMATISM

Coming from a simple background I was born with pragmatism. I'd rather have the 80/20 solution than a perfection which cannot exist. When it comes to compliance, every organization is a moving target. Business models, requirements of counterparts, laws and therefore risk profiles change. No compliance management system (CMS) in the world can completely prevent non-compliance. But a good CMS can reduce the likelihood and limit the consequences of a violation.

Our knowledgeable and lively speaker Uwe highlighted the two principles of every professionally managed process: authenticity and communication. The key to success is in compliance as well: We should do what we say and say what we do.

Authenticity

I say what I do and I do what I say. 

Compromise: yes - opportunism: no! Being able to say 'no' also means being able to do without. Because authenticity also requires modesty: I know what I can do and I know what I cannot do! But what I do, I do with passion; for companies and people who actually WANT to have Compliance Management.

STRUCTURE

If you want to create structures, you have to have structures yourself. I like order, system, overview and priorities. Pressure, stress and big challenges become manageable and less intimidating when you give them structure.

I have come to know Mr. Schoumakers as an absolutely authentic speaker, who not only believes in what he says, but actually puts it into practice.

Simplification

Expertise is good, using it correctly is better. Simplicity of requirements does not need complexity of solutions. Keep it simple! This applies to design, implementation and training. The goal is to filter out what is essential and useful and to communicate it in such a way that it can be applied in day-to-day business.

STORYTELLING

Scientific papers might be exciting for an audience with the appropriate academic background. However, for listeners whose day-to-day tasks are something completely different, compliance management must be "easy to digest". Stories, metaphors, examples from practice and everyday life ensure that the message is understood and remembered.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

Be it a German company with international activities or foreign locations or a foreign group with a subsidiary in Germany: in these and similar constellations, it is important that compliance management is in the hands of someone who can communicate adeptly and confidently in German and English both at international C-level and a specialist level.
